Who I am

I’ve lived the beautiful messiness of migration, identity shifts, and starting over. And through it all, I’ve returned—again and again—to the mat.
What I teach is not about picture-perfect poses or polished performances. It’s about presence.

Jeri

These are my personal values as a teacher

Respect for yoga’s roots, honoring my teachers and lineage but without copying formulas or repeating time-worn slogans.

Conscious adaptability: every body, story, and context is unique. My teaching aims to accompany, not impose.

Emotional honesty & humor as medicine: yoga isn’t always “namaste and bliss.” Sometimes, it’s breathing through the mess.

Inclusivity: your age, language, experience, or flexibility level don’t define your place, you belong as you are.

The body as sacred ground, not a project to fix. We listen, inhabit, and respect it.

I was born in Venezuela, grew up in Chile and learnt a great deal from Indian teachings, currently residing in Taiwan, I embarked myself on a new phase in my personnel and professional journey. This path has been full of changes, from exploring new countries, cultures and people to facing setbacks and emotional and physical injuries.

Yoga has been instrumental in my personal healing journey and I firmly believe it is a valuable tool for learning to embrace your body, thrive amidst emotional turbulence, mental fluctuations and maintain balance.

Since 2001, I have taught yoga to individuals and groups with a variety of health needs and specific requirements, including maternity preparation, injury rehabilitation, disability management and stress reduction. I have led classes in studios, gyms, private companies and have lead general workshops and retreats in Chile, Peru and Argentina. Meanwhile, I continued learning along the way from reknowned teachers in Chile, Argentina, the U.S., France, and India, including B.K.S. Iyengar, his son and daughters during my visits to the Institute in Pune in 2010 and 2016.

In 2009 I became a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher at the Ramamani Iyengar Yoga Institute in Pune, India—an accreditation I renewed in 2015.

In 2018, I created and managed my own yoga studio, Radhika, in Santiago, Chile. The studio offered regular classes, as well as continuing education activities for teachers and students who wanted to deepen their practice or become teachers. I also organized yoga workshops and week-long retreats for the studio’s community of practitioners for more than six years.

In 2019, I published my first book: “Sentir Yoga” (meaning “Feeling Yoga”) is an invitation to experience yoga as something that is felt, not just practised. The book provides a comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles of yoga practice and philosophy. It also offers a step-by-step guide to more than 50 postures, with modifications tailored to different levels of expertise.

Two years later, the book was complemented with a set of cards and a mini manual. The cards contain personal reflections that practitioners can use to create sequences and deepen their understanding of their personal practice.

This book was originally published in Spanish and continues to be available for purchase through a variety of online retailers. If you are interested in checking it out, CLICK HERE.

My current project is the creation of an e-book. It offers a vision of the integrated and practical application of Yoga in everyday life and will be available in Spanish and English, with the hope that it will be translated into Chinese in the future.

When the world paused in 2020 I transitioned my teaching online and I continued to do so until now, connecting several times a week with students across continents.

In 2021 I obtained a diploma in Neurodance, Trauma and Resilience, and in 2022 another in Body and Emotions, with a focus on the digestive system, because I believe that continuing to learn is the best guarantee to being able to deliver and share well-being.
