Life is not a straight path, and I don’t want it to be.
Yoga has become my way of navigating the twists and turns, the highs and lows, the slow days and the free falls. It’s not just something I do, it’s how I move through life. And knowing that, a year ago, I moved with cats, pots and pans to the other side of the planet: the beautiful island of Taiwan.
When I was coming to Taipei, in transit through airports in different countries, I had an image in my head, I felt like a Tadasana (mountain pose) with wheels, because my decision and purpose are firm, but this solid mountain I live on is on the move. And it seems that without knowing where or when, I decided it was easier to install wheels to create less resistance, to have less weight; the same mountain but in eternal motion, like matter itself, always moving, changing, transforming without disappearing.
Now you try for a moment to stand with your two feet slightly apart, stabilize yourself in your position and close your eyes for a few seconds. Feel the movement in the posture, the doubt, the vibration, the urge to open your eyes, and just breathe, claim your presence in your body, firm, solid as a mountain. Register this connection in your memory and open your eyes. You are you, your own mountain! Anytime, anywhere in the world, life is in motion and sometimes everything can go on wheels!
